CrossFire Gmelin
Licensed by Elsevier Information Systems GmbH
CrossFire Gmelin is part of the CrossFire Database Suite. The suite represents a unique, deeply indexed source of experimental data in organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry.
Elsevier's partner in the development of CrossFire Gmelin is Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker e.V. (GDCh), the German Chemical Society. GDCh is the largest chemistry-related scientific society in continental Europe. It holds the ownership of the data and actively participates in the excerption and the development of CrossFire Gmelin.

Gmelin's deep indexing makes it the essential first step in materials science and catalysis research. It is the only comprehensive, electronically searchable source of reactions, structures, properties and citations from inorganic and organometallic chemistry journals, with sources going back to 1772. Find millions of substances for development of materials, such as phosphors, catalysts and polymers, as well as other substances used in electronics, magnetics, optics and nanoscience. It covers general inorganic compounds, including: nano materials, zeolites and laser materials, as well as coordination compounds, solid-state compounds, glasses and ceramic materials, alloys, doped materials, catalysts and minerals.

CrossFire Gmelin is fully searchable by structures, substructures, and reactions. The data are indexed from 62 journals (PDF: 129 KB).

With simple queries, more than 800 chemical and physical data fields, including electric, magnetic, thermal, crystal, and physiological data can be accessed to provide relevant answer sets.
CrossFire Gmelin answers informatics needs in the material science, catalyst, and semiconductor industries. CrossFire Gmelin also complements CrossFire Beilstein with organometallic and inorganic content.
The Gmelin database is updated quarterly and can be hosted for use at your organization's site or accessed via the following services:
CrossFire Direct:

Customers can access the Gmelin database via the Internet using CrossFire Direct, licensed by Elsevier Information Systems GmbH. The application interface to access the Gmelin database in this way is CrossFire Commander. (Version 7.1, available for Microsoft Windows.)
DiscoveryGate:

CrossFire Gmelin is also available from DiscoveryGate, a comprehensive online cheminformatics discovery online service offered by Symyx. Customers may choose to access the Gmelin data through DiscoveryGate via either the Database Browser application, or CrossFire Commander interface.
